Some Years Back During A Campaign By A Certain Governorship Aspirant Who Is Currently The Incumbent Governor Of The State, He Was At That Time Throwing His Tape In The Air, And I Happened To Be Walking Out Of An Eatery After Having Lunch, When One Of His Tapes Landed In Front Of Me... I Was About Picking It Up, When Some Young Men Charged At Me... Being Well Trained In Self Defence, I Saw An Opportunity To Put To Effective Use In Defence What I've Practised Over The Years. I Sure Inflicted On Those Three Young Men Wounds That Would Leave Them Partially Disabled For The Rest Of Their Lives. Someone Might Say That Was Been Violent of Me, But That Wouldn't Have Been Necessary If Those Young Men Acted Wisely. Though A Thing I Wasn't Most Proud Of... And Something They'd Obviously Be Regretting Till Date. The Funny Part Was This All Happened Opposite A Police Station, And The Officers Were Just Standing There Observing. Afterwards, They Came Forward Only To Say I Was Under Arrest For Disturbing The PEACE... WHAAAAT??? I Exclaimed, Didn't You Guys See What Just Happened? Atleast The Crowd Here Can Testify To That. Besides How Can Three Men Against One Be Tagged As "Disturbing The PEACE?" Am I The One Campaigning Or Holding A Weapon Here, As I Believed You Officers Saw What Happened. I Had To Show An I.D Before They Allowed Me Walk Away. Just Then I Thought To Myself... So If I Wasn't Prepared For Self Defence, That's How Those Young Men Would Have Either Killed Or Maimed Me Over An Election.
I Really Wish Our Youths Who Engage In Post Election Violence Could See The Damage They Are Doing To Themselves And Others During Elections. The People You Are Fighting For Are Not Your Father, Neither Are They Your Family Member... Even If They Are, Why Become A Weapon Of Violence And Destruction At Their Disposal? How Much Are They Even Paying You? Money That Can't Buy The Cheapest Champagne, Money That Wouldn't Last You A Week In Four Years Minimum They Are Gonna Spend In Office #Smh
I Go Out And I See Youths Arguing And Fighting Over Who They Want To Be In Power, And I Ask Myself "Does It Warrant All These?" Even Some Of Us On Social Media Are Not Left Out. Why Insult Yourselves And Throwing Tantrums Over Such Issues? The Funny Part Is That The People Arguing And Shouting The Most In Violence Are Not Eligible To Vote, And Majority Who Are Eligible Don't Have A Voters Card. So Why Messing Yourselves Up?
I Was At A Youth Seminar Recently And The Issue Of The Election Was Raised... After The Arguments, I Then Asked How Many Of Them Who Were Eligible To Vote Had Their Voters Card,,, Was Surprised To See That 90% Of Them Don't Have It Because They Didn't Register. I Wonder How They Want To Vote. Tomorrow They Would Be The Ones Trying To Cause Trouble For Those Who Want To.
Don't Result Into Violence Just Because You Want Change, Because When The Change Comes, It May Not Be Worth The Trouble And Violence Put In To It Afterall, That Is If You Are Even Alive To Witness The "So Called" CHANGE.
VOTE The Person You Want Without Having To Criticise Other Aspirants Based On Sentiments And Ethnicity.
